Potential Risks in the Electrical Panel
The fire risk identified in this area was potential electrical faults (i.e. short circuits, etc.). Electrical faults can be caused by old cable connections, exposed wires, heat build-up and debris. In addition, Eltek identified vandalism and accident risks that could occur. Some of these risks are difficult to mitigate, but it was decided that the best way to protect against the spread of fire was to install a BlazeCut system. While the product manufactured by Eltek is of the highest quality, the environment in which it was installed was prone to potential vandalism and electrical fire risk due to deterioration.

What does BlazeCut T Series Technology entail?
The switchboards contain a range of electrical components, switches and batteries. The BlazeCut "T" series system, 5m long and containing 1.25kg of HFC-227ea flame retardant, was integrated into the cabinet, allowing the self-contained automatic fire extinguishing system to cover more risk areas in the cabinet and improve the likelihood of reducing the occurrence of fires. The T-series fire extinguishing system was fixed to the rails that supported the switchgear. This gave Eltek a quick installation as no heavy clamps or mounting brackets were required, ideal for remote locations, with a maintenance-free application and a service life of up to 10 years.

The BlazeCut T Series self-contained fire suppression system installed in the electrical cabinet provides protection in rarely accessed environments, acting quickly and automatically. Without complex accessories or pressurized cylinders, the system is easy to install and compact inside the cabinet, which has reduced the risk and potential damage in the event of a fire. The system is completely installed inside the cabinet, so no external perforations or additional fixings were used.
