FlareStix is a compact automatic suppression module using type-S thermal aerosol, designed to protect battery packs, compact cabinets, and narrow enclosures where the available space is limited. With a slim profile of just 0.55 in (14 mm), FlareStix can be integrated directly inside the risk zone, providing localized protection where conventional suppression systems or larger devices cannot be fitted effectively.

The product is suited to applications where fire must be detected and suppressed quickly, particularly in enclosed spaces, lithium-ion battery packs, battery cabinets, charging stations, distribution boxes, and compact electrical equipment.

Automatic protection in very confined spaces

FlareStix can be activated automatically by heat, when the temperature in the protected zone reaches 347°F ± 27°F (175°C ± 15°C), or electrically, via a fire-alarm panel / control system at 24 V DC. Once activated, the aerosol is discharged rapidly into the protected enclosure, helping to extinguish the fire by inhibiting the combustion reaction.

A single FlareStix module protects up to 5.3 ft³ (0.15 m³), and for larger enclosures or packs several modules can be installed, depending on the protected volume and the configuration of the application.

Installation in batteries and narrow enclosures

FlareStix is installed directly in the protected zone, according to the volume of the enclosure. For thermal activation, the heat-sensitive cord is positioned over the risk zone, away from live parts and high-temperature components.

It is recommended to keep a clear space of at least 2 in (50 mm) in front of the nozzle, to avoid air outlets, and to mount the device so that the nozzle is not aimed at the human body.

Important: installation must be carried out by professionally trained personnel. The product is not intended for use in explosive atmospheres, in the presence of strong oxidizers, or of reactive metals such as potassium and sodium.
