ZENOVA FP Intumescent Paint

Also known as heat-reactive or intumescent paint, ZENOVA FP is a water-based fire-resistant coating that helps prevent ignition and the spread of fire.

This coating takes the familiar concept of “waterproof” and applies it to fire protection: “fireproof.”

When exposed to heat, the intumescent coating expands and forms a lightweight carbon foam, increasing in volume while decreasing in density. This substantially reduces heat transfer from the flames to the substrate. The treated material is insulated from the elements that sustain combustion as the coating forms a protective insulating membrane.
